Speech Therapy
Sometimes an illness, old age, or even the onset of deafness can rob you of the ability to talk. Speech therapy is all about relearning habits of forming words, swallowing, and simply getting your point across. Our caring therapists evaluate speech patterns, language, and swallowing, and assist with the latest techniques for more effective communication. Most major insurance is accepted.
Whom we help: Any adult, with difficulties of speech or swallowing, including those with aphasia, dysarthria, apraxia of speech, dysphagia, or dementia.
What to expect: Once lost, the habits of speech and swallowing may not resume overnight. You may work with a therapist for a series of visits to practice and perfect skills. Common treatments may range from physical strengthening exercises to repetitive drills to viewing audio-visual aids.
The Masonicare difference: All our therapists hold state licenses. These patient, caring professionals specialize in geriatric speech disorders. Plus, Masonicare offers the flexibility of outpatient therapy at the Masonicare Health Center, or Masonicare at Newtown; or in-home therapy provided through Masonicare Home Health & Hospice.
