What is acute care? Acute care is round-the-clock medical attention for a variety of health related issues, including acute heart attack, pneumonia, heart failure, unstable angina, cardiac arrhythmia, septicemia, urosepsis, COPD, nutritional deficiencies, and other diagnoses. Acute care at Masonicare Health Center is designed to restore patients to their previous level of functioning and self-sufficiency.

Our Acute Care Unit Features:
• A full-time physician hospitalist and 24/7 onsite medical staff who work
with your primary care physician

• A medical team that includes physician specialists, a social worker,
chaplain, registered dietitian, recreation therapist, rehabilitation therapist
and pharmacist

• A licensed nursing staff, specially trained in acute care and chronic diseases,
with a unique understanding of the often complex physical and emotional needs
of seniors

• State-of-the-art acute medical care, including telemetry, I.V. antibiotic therapy,
parenteral nutrition, wound management, blood transfusions, I.V. therapy and
pain management

• Unrestricted visiting hours, children and pets welcome

• A high nurse-to-patient ratio.

• A patient recovery time that is better than the national standard

• Free, convenient and secure parking

Admissions: Patients can be admitted 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Long waits in hospital emergency departments can be avoided with one simple
phone call from your physician to set things in motion. Acute care is considered
a hospital admission and is covered by Medicare and most insurance plans.
