The Masonicare Primary Care practice is the primary care physician practice in the Masonicare constellation of services. This community-based practice is staffed by board-certified physicians, all committed to helping patients feel their best. They specialize in the care and treatment of adults and are as concerned with preventing disease as treating it. Office hours are from 9 am to 5 pm weekdays and, for your convenience, a physician is always on call. Our offices are located at 67 Masonic Avenue, Wallingford, CT 06492. Profiles of Masonicare Primary Care Physicians

Alla Bernshteyn, M.D., F.A.C.P.

Dr. Bernshteyn has been a vital part of Masonicare Primary Care Physicians since November 2001.  She is a full-time dedicated office physician with hospital privileges at MidState Medical Center in Meriden, and also serves as Masonicare Primary Care Physicians'Medical Director. 

Dr. Bernshteyn received her medical degree from Tashkent State Medical Institute in Tashkent, Uzbekistan (formerly the U.S.S.R.) in 1991.  Dr. Bernshteyn is board-certified in Internal Medicine as well as Geriatrics. She completed her Internship and Residency at the University of Connecticut Health Center in Farmington and her Geriatric Fellowship at the Montefiore Medical Center in New York.  

Robert W. Elwell, Jr., M.D

Dr. Robert W. Elwell, Jr., is an office physician with Masonicare Primary Care Physicians and also has hospital privileges at MidState Medical Center.

Dr. Elwell, who specializes in Family Medicine, received his medical degree from the University of Virginia and completed his residency in Family Practice at the University of Connecticut. He is a well known and respected resident of Southington, where he cared for patients in his own private medical practice for 25 years, and has been seeing patients at Masonic Healthcare Center prior to joining the staff at Masonicare Primary Care Physicians.
