Truths & Myths About Memory Loss at April 9 Lunch & Learn at North Haven Memorial Library - 3/19/2009

Wallingford, CT, March 19, 2009.... Many adults accept minor memory loss as a natural consequence of aging.  But should they?  Or are there medical reasons that may be causing a diminished short-term memory?  Dr. Ronald Schwartz, Medical Director at Masonicare Health Center in Wallingford, will address "The Truths and Myths About Memory Loss" at the Thursday, April 9 Lunch & Learn program at the North Haven Memorial Library.

Dr. Schwartz will explore what can be considered "normal" memory loss and what symptoms might be identified with other causes.  Practical suggestions for ways to keep your brain active, when to consult a medical professional, and taking a medical approach to memory loss will be offered.

Masonicare Health Center is an affiliate of Masonicare, Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of senior healthcare and retirement living.  Masonicare provides Lunch and Learn programs for seniors and their caregivers as a public service to the community.

The Lunch and Learn program begins at 11:30 am and includes a complimentary lunch.  The program is free, but people are asked to make a reservation by calling the library at 203-239-5803 by Tuesday, April 7.
