Wallingford, CT, June 29, 2010...... At a special graduation ceremony held recently in the Knapp Auditorium at Masonicare at Ashlar Village in Wallingford, eight Masonicare employees celebrated their successful completion of the School at Work educational program offered by Masonicare. Coworkers, family members and friends joined the graduates to recognize their hard work and the time they spent to complete the 8-month course.
The School at Work program, "Building a Career in Healthcare," is made possible by a grant from the Workforce Investment Act. The program is designed to help employees, in the convenience of the workplace, improve basic skills and increase their knowledge of the healthcare field. Grant money was received from The South Central Connecticut Workforce Alliance, which subsidized the program at Masonicare.
Victoria Brogan of Masonicare's Human Resources Department facilitates the program and serves as the program coach. Mrs. Brogan said Masonicare is committed to giving its employees the opportunity to advance their job and educational opportunities through programs such as School at Work.
